Burkina Faso
AYANI provides a resident advisor to a subsidiary of the Banque Agricole
et Commercial de Burkina. The greenfield bank is showing rapid uptake of
depositors since the advisor got on board. AYANI assisted the bank in the
drafting of procedure manuals, recruitment of staff and with training in
credit management and risk management provided (Fintech / Oikocredit / Bank,
2010-2011).
SME
Bank Capacity Building
Cameroon
AYANI is assisting a large SME bank in Cameroon to build
its institutional capacity. AYANI is assisting with procedure
development, organizational structure,
building planning capacity and training and coaching of senior and middle
management staff (Bank, 2009-2011).
SPM Training-of-Trainer Courses
Egypt
AYANI provided an Arabic speaking certified trainer to undertake
training on social performance management (Sanabel, 2008).
New
Product Development for Lower Income Markets
Haiti
AYANI undertook the product lending process analysis, customer
satisfaction and poverty assessment of clients of a new loan
product specifically developed to reach poorer market segments.
The product used a credit scoring technique which increased
loan processing time, reduced costs and improved portfolio
quality (ACCION, 2009-2010).
Bank Downscaling Capacity Building
Haiti
AYANI has undertaking the mid-term evaluation of an institutional
capacity building program to assist a major commercial bank,
Capital Bank, in its bank downscaling efforts through its subsidiary
MCC (IADB, 2008).

Morocco
AYANI provided an Arabic speaking certified trainer to undertake
training on social performance management (Sanabel, 2008).
MSME Bank Capacity Building
Mozambique
AYANI has a management contract with a major MSME bank in Mozambique.
Since it took over the bank increased its performance month
by month and can be said to have turned around its operations
by month 8 (Bank, 2010-2012).
Value Chain Finance/DCA Facility

AYANI analyzed the value chain finance product offering from
major banks like Bank of Africa, Ecobank and BRS in four countries
in Africa: Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali and Niger. It sought to
compare this with demand information from agribusiness financial
needs of processors, traders and producer associations for
major value chains, in order to specify gaps. It further explored
the possibility of expanding the DCA guarantee facility based
on experience in Senegal (USAID, 2009).
Credit Management
Rwanda
AYANI provided a consultant as resident advisor to a major
commercial bank with a view to improving its credit management
process. The services included drafting new SME lending procedures
and providing training as well as on-the-job coaching to build
staff capacity in SME lending (SBI, 2009).
Development of a
Sustainable Pro-Poor Financial Sector
Sierra Leone
One of AYANI’s senior consultants provided several training
workshops to a range of commercial banks in Sierra Leone
on how to assess risks of lending in MSME market segments(MITAF,
2008-2009).
Loan Officer Training
Sudan
AYANI trained loan officers from 12 commercial banks in Sudan
in SME lending, appraisals and delinquency management (Central
Bank, 2008).
Small Enterprise Lending
Zimbabwe
AYANI designed and delivered an introductory course on SME
lending and refresher courses in microfinance lending technologies
to loan officers and middle management of the microfinance
subsidiary, MicroKing Savings and Credit, of a major commercial
bank (Kingdom Financial Holdings, 2008).
