Mr Mercau is an experienced microfinance practitioner and consultant
to the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, and
numerous other clients. His work focuses on Banking, Microfinance,
Business Development Services, Public Policymaking in the area
of Employment Creation, Land Management (including title deeds),
and Local and Municipal Management.
More specifically, Mr Mercau is highly skilled in assessing and designing
agricultural support initiatives, working with cooperatives as well
as banks, trade finance and value chain support programs, including
financial and non-financial components. He also has been fund manager
of a wholesale financing facility for microfinance. Furthermore,
he provides Evaluation Advisory Services to bi- and multi-lateral
donors (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, UNDP). Fernando hols
a Masters in Financial Management from the University of Barcelona,
Spain. He is currently representing AYANI in Latin America. He is
fluent in Spanish and speaks Portuguese. |
