Mr Pearson Kalungulungu brings a wealth of microfinance experience
in a 15 countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. After
having served in leading positions in Microfinance Institutions
(MFIs) in Zambia, he became an international microfinance advisor
and later the CEO of the Southern Africa Microfinance & Enterprise
Enhancement Facility (SAMCAF), the CGAP supported regional network.
He also served as key trainer and technical assistance provider and
later Chief of Party of the Microfinance Investment and Technical
Assistance Facility (MITAF) in Sierra Leone. Under his watch 8 MFIs
reached operational self-sufficiency and 3 full profitability as
at year end 2010. The success was achieved by a combination of class
room training of all CGAP training modules, Trainer of Trainers and
tailored training, dissemination of tools and short term as well
as long term technical assistance.
Mr Kalungulungu holds an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe (2004)
and a Post Graduate Diploma from the Institute of Credit
Management in the United Kingdom (1997).
