Mr Roland Tiaba is an expert in banking operations, with
specific expertise in rural banking. He started his career in
1995 with
the leading microfinance institution in Congo, MUCODEC, the Congolese
partner of Centre International du Crédit Mutuel (CICM).
He started as assistant in the MIS department and was subsequently
promoted to head the department and become a member of the management
team. In this position he also provided technical assistance
to CICM partner institutions
In 2004 he joined Desjardins Developpement Internationale (DID) in
Senegal in their DELISA project which was set up to develop local
expertise on computerizing savings and lending cooperatives in West
Africa –-Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania - and
assisting them with the development of procedures, manuals, internal
controls. In 2006 he became the project director of the project in
Senegal, supervising a team of eight people. In 2008, Mr Tiaba joined
another DID project in Haiti, to support a large network of savings
and credit cooperatives in rural and very remote areas in Haiti.
Mr Tiaba holds a diploma from d’Études Supérieures
de Banque de l’Institut Technique de Banque de Paris. He is
currently Resident Technical Advisor with a major MFI in Cameroon.
